With SBZ 145, Voilàp Spa Wins for Product Innovation

“Emilia Sostenibile” 2025

The multinational Voilàp Spa, which designs and develops smart solutions for industry and cities, was one of the main players in the second edition of the “Emilia Sostenibile” award. The event – promoted by UCID Bologna in collaboration with Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, Confcooperative Terre d’Emilia, Bologna Business School, and Next Economia – featured 31 projects from Bologna, Modena, and Reggio Emilia. Voilàp received recognition for sustainable innovation thanks to the “elumatec SBZ 145” project.

It is a high-tech machining center for processing aluminum and light alloy profiles, combining innovation and environmental sustainability while ensuring high-precision operations and optimizing the use of energy and materials.

The product has a positive impact in several areas of sustainability, including:

  • The use of oil-free tools and energy-saving blades reduces environmental impact and promotes more efficient recycling of aluminum chips.
  • The fume extraction system, which recovers oils and releases purified air, improves work quality and reduces energy consumption.
  • The Voilàp Connect IoT platform provides valuable data for the Net Zero transition by monitoring consumption and emissions in real time. Through predictive maintenance, Voilàp Connect reduces breakdowns and extends component lifespan.
  • It enhances operator safety and comfort, thanks to ergonomics studies and user-centered design developed by the Voilàp Group’s Design team.

The eco-friendly award plaque was received by Luca Calanca (Strategic Sourcing Manager) and Ilenia Capone (Project Manager), who commented:

“This product is the result of our strategic ambition.”

The ceremony was chaired by Gian Luca Galletti, National President of UCID, who emphasized the importance of sustainability as a lever for resilience in uncertain times.
The award is supported by Coprob Italia Zuccheri, Emil Banca, and Fondazione Marchesini Act.
